Something that has come up with general product use is that the tiny hidden manual control buttons on the plug-in switches and dimmers are very fiddly to use, and hard to find in the dark – or in the light come to that. It makes them kinda awkward to use for a light switch, so my family have just taken to turning our evening lamp on and off using the normal toggle switch on the lampstand, which of course completely defeats the point as then I can’t remote control it using timers over night.
I’d suggest that for future versions of these products, the manual button be made larger and placed more prominently on the front of the unit (perhaps integrating it with the current orange/blue LEDs for easy location in the dark?) rather than hiding it on the side.

Or you need a selection of fake toggle switches, that are actually just LWRF transmitters ” title=”Wink” />
That’s a point: surely you must have loads of surplus hand held remotes; leave one of those nearby, perhaps?November 9, 2011 at 12:11 #1396AndreWilleyParticipant"blowback":77d74d5c wrote:

I have actually thought about that, but unless I actually glue one to the lamp-stand and/or the switch, I suspect I’ll get told off by DW for cluttering the place up (even more than I usually do anyway!).
