Advice on removing GU10 light fittings To Parent Forum March 2, 2016 at 21:12 #21207 ukmgrangerParticipant I have 9 ceiling mounted GU10’s in the kitchen, and I want to remove two of them as I’m going to add some other form of lighting (Using Lightwave) instead. Can I just remove the transformers, terminate the wires into a junction box and plaster over the holes? Or would this be a bad idea? Just to note – I don’t need to use the existing wiring for the new lighting I’m putting in, as this is entirely separate. March 3, 2016 at 10:52 #21214 ChesterParticipant GU10 with transformers? Surely they’re MR16s. Personally I’d take out the cables that run between the two lights and their neighbours, and run a single cable between the neighbouring lights instead. Much neater.
